Description

This is a community fund proposal to provide the regenerative media non-profit Branch Out with $REGEN to launch Climate Wiki, following six months of discussion between Branch Out and the Regen Network & Foundation.

Based on the proposal discussion & poll last week, a two-thirds consensus was established for an allocation of 500k $REGEN. We have decided to ask for 400k $REGEN, with the intention of establishing an even stronger consensus for the official proposal.

One-third of this budget will be dedicated to discretionary spending, for Branch Out to used as needed to pay a small team full-time to complete the launch (phase 1) of the Web2 MVP of Climate Wiki (e.t.a. Fall 2022).

Two-thirds of the budget will be reserved for a staking 'mini-endaoment', then dedicated to a planned $BRANCH/$REGEN Liquidity Pool upon the launch (phase 2) of the $BRANCH token.

During the token launch, Branch Out will airdrop $BRANCH tokens to $REGEN holders to replenish the community pool (beyond what is allocated), support $REGEN, and provide a stimulus for $REGEN holders to commission Climate Wiki pages.

Climate Wiki is a ‘sprouting’ knowledge commons tackling the interrelated challenges of information overload, knowledge inequity, and knowledge-action disconnect. Its priority is aligning the interests of our stakeholders: land stewards, ReFi investors, and climate writers. It will subtly offer Web3 features while working as a familiar Web2 Wiki.
